Program administrative files, 1968-1983.

This series consists of subject files documenting the activities of the Archives and Records Division in its capacity as support staff for the State Records Commission. Typical records in these files include correspondence, memoranda, annual activity reports, monthly statistical reports and procedural manuals. Three items of particular interest are a 1977 security evaluation of the department by an outside consultant, a copy of the state records retention program manual for 1970, and a copy of the department's stack management manual for 1983. The stack management manual has chapters on receiving collections, the acquisitions committee, collection policy, book acquisition policy, acknowledgement/refusal of gifts, accessioning, storage, retrieval, and loan and deaccessioning procedures.
